Rise to Rajarshi:-
After
cursing Menaka, Biswamitra goes to the highest mountain of Himalayas to perform
an even more severe tapasya for over 1000 years. He ceases to eat, and reduces
his breathing to a bare minimum.
He
is tested again by Indra, who comes as a poor Brahmin begging for food just as
Biswamitra is ready to break a fast of many years by eating some rice.
Biswamitra instantly gives his food away to Indra and resumes his meditation.
Biswamitra also finally masters his passions, refusing to be provoked by any of
Indra's testing and seductive interferences.
At
the penultimate culmination of a multi-thousand year journey, Kaushika's yogic
power is at a peak. At this point, Brahma, as the head of Devas led by Indra,
names Biswamitra a Brahmarshi and names him Biswamitra or Friend of All for his
unlimited compassion. He then goes to meet Basistha. It was customary that, if
a sage was greeted by an equal or superior person, the sage would also greet
the person. If the sage was greeted by an inferior person, the sage would
simply bless them. Initially, when Biswamitra greeted Basistha with the pride
of being a new Brahmarshi in heart, Basistha simply blessed him. Suddenly all
pride and desire left Biswamitra’s heart and he became a clean and clear Brahmarshi.
When Biswamitra turned back to leave, Basistha realised the change of heart and
proceeded to greet Biswamitra. Biswamitra is also embraced by Basistha and
their enmity is instantly ended.
So what did we learn from this?
1) Control
yourself. That time he was a Rajarshi but still he can’t control his komokta(Lust
feeling/Sexual feeling) and fell in love . Rajarshi means Raja(King) + Rushi
(sage). Means a man who is king and sage simultaneously.
2) In
this stage he was more powerful then a common man like us but just for one
mistake he suffered that and fell guilty.
3) So
control your mind .
4) Mind can be controlled . In Bhagbat Gita Lord Sri Krishna told that mind can be control by recurrent practice.
