Quantifiers:
Any word which refers to quantity is called quantifier.
* Quantifiers are noun related words.
examples of quantifiers: many, much, lot of ,a lots of, any, more, few, a few, little, a little, a large number of, Plenty of, a great deal of, most of, fewer, less etc.
Here Noun is of 2 types:
i) Countable noun
ii) Uncountable noun
1st What is a noun ?
ans: Anything which have a name is called a noun.
Ex- Ram, Shyam, Car, Motor, Tree, Hen, Football, Water etc.
i) What is a countable noun ?
Ans: The noun which can be count is called a countable noun.
Ex- Ball= 2 balls, boys= 8 Boys, Tree= many trees, Car= Cars, Girl= Girls, Man= Men etc.
ii) What is a uncountable noun ?
Ans: The noun which can not be count is called a countable noun.
Ex- Water = Waters , Rice= Rices, Milk= many Milk, Honey= Honies, Money= Moneys ( These words cannot be plural form so can not be countable but still these are noun because these are names)
( You can say money can be plural because, I have a 1 rupee coin and I have 50 Rupees so this is plural but only currency is not money money has many form, You can read is to know the difference between money and currency)

1st remember we use some signs to read fast and remember fast where the specific quantifier use
Signs are=
(+) = positive Sentence
(-) = Negative Sentence
(C) = Countable Noun
( U ) = Uncountable Noun
1) Group 1 Quantifiers
Many = C - ( It means Many is used in countable noun with negative sentence)
Much = U -
a lot of = U +
lots of = C+
Examples=
I ate Lots of Cake. ( here Cake is countable noun and it is a positive sentence so we use Lots of as written above
I drank a lot of Milk. ( here milk is uncountable noun and it is a positive sentence so we use a Lot of as written above)
I drank ___________ water.
I did not drink ________ Water.
Our country needs ______________ money to abolish poverty and illiteracy forever.
She is a good girl but she does not have ___________ courage to move alone. ( hint U - sentence)
2) Group 2 Quantifiers
few = C -
a few = C+
little = U -
a little = U+
Examples=
There is little water, you can't drink. ( water is uncountable and because can't is used so it is a negative sentence so little is used )
There is _______ books, you can read.
There is __________ mango, you ca eat.
3) Group 3 Quantifiers
Some = C+ , U+ ( it means it can used in both countable and uncountable but positive sentence)
any = C- , U-
Examples=
I don't have any books/book.( it is a countable negative sentence because book is countable and don't is used so it is a negative sentence so any is used)
I have some problem ( it is a uncountable negative sentence because problem is uncountable and it is a positive sentence so some is used)
Do you have any problem ? ( in interrogative any is always used)
I have _______ mango seeds.
I don't have _______ mango seeds.
Do you have _______ mango seeds ?
4) Group 4 Quantifiers
Fewer = Countable Comparative
less = Uncountable Comparative
More = Both ( it means it can used in both types of sentences)
Examples=
Nitin had fewer books than Shyam. (book is countable and this sentence we compared two people so fewer is used)
Nitin had ______ knowledge than Shyam.
Karan had _________ computers than Ankit.
5) Group 5 Quantifiers ( only Positive)
a large number of = C+
Plenty of =C+ , U+
a great deal of = U+
Most of = C+ , U+
Examples=
________________ people of our country are below poverty line. ( all are applicable except a great/good deal of )
