What is feedback in communication?

In communication, feedback is the response, reaction, or information provided by the recipient of a message to the sender. It is the process of informing someone about the areas in which they need to develop.

The meaning of feedback is the information or response provided to someone about their actions, performance, or behavior. It is a process of sharing observations, evaluations, or opinions with the purpose of guiding improvement, promoting awareness, or maintaining system stability. Feedback serves to provide individuals or systems with valuable insights, enabling them to make adjustments, learn from their experiences, and enhance their future performance or behavior.

Importance of feedback

Feedback is crucial as it enhances performance, promotes learning, increases self-awareness, strengthens relationships, drives continuous improvement, supports decision-making, boosts motivation, and facilitates accountability.

* A Thank-you note

* Audience clapping also can be a form of feedback

* Self-reflection is a form of feedback where individuals assess their own performance, behavior, or communication, identifying areas for improvement or acknowledging achievements.

Characteristic of feedback

1) Intention: Feedback should ensure  that communication becomes successful if the message not received correctly. Feedback is the way to report this to the sender.

2) Specific: Specific feedback is clear, focused, and addresses specific behaviors, actions, or aspects of performance. It provides concrete and actionable information that is relevant to the recipient.

3)Fair & Non -Judgemental: Useful feedback doesnot  pass judgement on message; it merely expresses if the message is received in the
