Creating animation in Animate 2020

 

Tools Panel:

Tools area: The tools area contains drawing, painting, and selection tools.

View area: The view area contains tools for zooming and panning in the application window.

Colors area: With the Color panel, we can create and edit solid colors and gradient fills in RGB and HSB modes. To access the system color picker, select the Color Picker icon from the Stroke Color or Fill Color control in the Color panel, the Tools panel or Shape Property inspector.18

Option area: This display modifier for the tools currently selected in the tools panel.

Text tools:

Adobe Animate's Text Tool (T) creates text boxes for static or dynamic text. Customize font, size, and color in the Properties panel. Convert text to symbols for animations.

Step to use it

·  Locate the toolbar on the left side.

·  Look for the "T" icon, which represents the Text Tool.

·  Click on the "T" icon to activate the Text Tool.

·  Once selected, click on the stage where we want to add or edit text.

Line tool:

The Line Tool is a drawing tool commonly found in graphic design and animation software, including Adobe Animate. It allows users to create straight lines easily. When activated, we can click and drag on the canvas to draw a straight line in the specified direction. The Line Tool is often used for creating shapes, outlines, or any element that requires straight-line segments in digital illustrations, animations, or designs. Users can typically customize attributes such as color, thickness, and style for the lines drawn using the Line Tool.

Step to use it

·  Look for the toolbar on the left side.

·  Find the "Line" icon, which represents the Line Tool.

·  Click on the "Line" icon to activate the Line Tool.

·  Once selected, click and drag on the stage to create a line.

Rectangle tool:

The Rectangle Tool in Adobe Animate is used to create rectangles and squares. Activate it from the toolbar, then click and drag on the canvas to draw a rectangle. Customize properties like color and thickness in the Properties panel.

Step to use it

·  Look for the toolbar on the left side.

·  Find the "Rectangle" icon, representing the Rectangle Tool.

·  Click on the "Rectangle" icon to activate the tool.

·  Click and drag on the stage to create a rectangle or square.

Polystar Tool:

The Polystar Tool in Adobe Animate is used for creating polygons and stars. Activate it from the toolbar, click and drag on the canvas to draw a polygon, and adjust properties like sides and star points in the Properties panel.

Step to use it

·  Look for the toolbar on the left side of the screen.

·  Locate the "Polystar" icon, representing the Polystar Tool.

·  Click on the "Polystar" icon to activate the tool.

·  Once selected, click and drag on the stage to create a polygon or star shape.

After creating a shape, we can customize its properties, such as the number of sides, star points, fill color, stroke color, and other attributes using the Properties panel or relevant panels in the software. The Polystar Tool is useful for creating a variety of geometric shapes in digital designs and animations.

Pencil Tool:

The Pencil Tool in Adobe Animate is used for freehand drawing and sketching. To select it:

  1. Find the "Pencil" icon, representing the Pencil Tool.
  2. Click on the "Pencil" icon to activate the tool.
  3. Once selected, click and drag on the stage to draw freeform lines.

The Pencil Tool allows for more fluid and flexible drawing compared to shapes and lines. We can adjust the stroke size, color, and other properties in the Properties panel or relevant panels within the software. It's commonly used for creating hand-drawn animations or adding a more organic touch to illustrations.

Classic Brush Tool:

The Brush Tool in Adobe Animate is used for freehand drawing and painting.

 To use the Brush Tool:

  1. Find the "Brush" icon, representing the Brush Tool.
  2. Click on the "Brush" icon to activate the tool.
  3. Once selected, click and drag on the stage to draw freeform lines.

Paint bucket Tool:

The Paint Bucket Tool in Adobe Animate is used for filling enclosed areas with color.

To use the Paint Bucket Tool:

  1. Find the "Paint Bucket" icon, representing the Paint Bucket Tool.
  2. Click on the "Paint Bucket" icon to activate the tool.
  3. Click inside a closed area on the stage, and the tool will fill that area with the selected color.

Ink Bottle Tool:

The tool is use to change the stroke color, width, and style of one or more lines or shape outlines,

To use the Ink Bottle Tool:

  1. Find the "Paint Bucket" icon, representing the ink bottle Tool.
  2. Click on the " Ink Bottle " icon to activate the tool.
  3. Then use it.

Eye dropper Tool:

The Eyedropper tool can sample colors from anywhere in an image and add them to wer Swatches panel.

To use it:

  1. Select the Eyedropper tool (I) https://helpx.adobe.com/content/dam/photoshop/icons/eyedropper-tool.png.
  2. Use the Options Bar to customize tool settings, like Sample Size and Sample, to get the effect we want. 
  3. Click on the color we want to sample.
  4. The the sampled color will become the foreground color and will be added to wer Swatches panel.

Ereser Tool:

Adobe Animate does include an Eraser Tool, which is used for removing parts of drawings or strokes.

to use the Eraser Tool:

  1. Find the "Eraser" icon, representing the Eraser Tool.
  2. Click on the "Eraser" icon to activate the tool.
  3. Once selected, click and drag on the stage over the parts of wer drawing or strokes that we want to erase.

Selection Tools:

Selection Tool:

The Selection Tool in Adobe Animate is used for selecting and manipulating objects on the stage.

To use the Selection Tool:

  1. Find the "Selection" tool, usually represented by an arrow or cursor icon.
  2. Click on the "Selection" tool to activate it.
  3. Once selected, click on an object on the stage to choose it.

With the Selection Tool active, we can move, resize, rotate, or otherwise manipulate the selected object. Additionally, we can select multiple objects by holding down the Shift key while clicking on each object.

Reshaping using selection tool

To reshape objects using the Selection Tool in Adobe Animate:

  1. Open wer project.
  2. Select the "Selection Tool" from the toolbar.
  3. Click on the object to be reshaped.
  4. Drag control points or anchor points to adjust its shape.
  5. Hold Shift for proportional scaling.
  6. Release the mouse button to apply the changes.

Free Transform Tool:

The Free Transform Tool in Adobe Animate is used for resizing, rotating, skewing, and moving objects freely. Here's a concise guide on using the Free Transform Tool:

To use it:

  1. Locate the toolbar on the left.
  2. Find the "Free Transform" tool, often represented by a selection box with handles.
  3. Click on the "Free Transform" tool to activate it.
  4. Select an object, and handles will appear around it.
  5. Drag the handles to resize, rotate, or skew the object freely.
  6. Hold Shift for proportional scaling.
  7. Release the mouse button to apply the transformation.

The Free Transform Tool provides versatile control over object manipulation in wer animation project.

Polygon Tool:

The polygon tool is useful for creating shapes that are used as the base for other elements in a project, such as buttons, backgrounds, and other design elements. It can also be used to create shapes that are used for animation, such as characters, vehicles, and other objects.

Lasso Tool:

We Use this tool to create an irregular selection outline on an object. 

Steps to select object using it:

1.       Select Lasso tool

2.       Drag it around the object to be selected.

View Modification Tools:

Adobe Animate provides several tools for modifying the view or navigating within the workspace. These tools allow we to zoom in and out, pan across the stage, and adjust wer view. Here are some common view modification tools:

  1. Hand Tool:
    • Activated by pressing the "H" key.
    • Allows we to click and drag to pan across the stage.
  2. Zoom Tool:
    • Activated by pressing the "Z" key.
    • Click and drag to create a zoom box for zooming in or out.
  3. Zoom In and Zoom Out:
    • Use the magnifying glass icons on the toolbar or keyboard shortcuts.
    • "Ctrl + +" (Windows)  to zoom in.
    • "Ctrl + -" (Windows) to zoom out.

These tools help we navigate and manipulate the view of wer project in Adobe Animate, making it easier to work on different parts of wer animation. Keep in mind that the specific tools and shortcuts may vary, so it's a good idea to refer to the Adobe Animate documentation for the version we are using for the most accurate information.
